Bains Game Lodge is situated on 42ha of prime land 2km west of the Bloemfontein border. It is on this land that the visionary design of Marius Strydom unfolds. The 24-hour security village will include conference facilities, restaurants and entertainment, shops, health facilities, and a variety of accommodation options including chalets, apartments and a hotel.
Until recently Bains Game Lodge consisted of conference facilities, two restaurants and a number of chalets, all incorporated in a natural habitat, home to a number of game species. The existing 100 beds in the form of chalets and cabins have proven far too few, and these facilities are being upgraded and another 100 beds added.
This first block of 54 brand-new, contemporary hotel rooms is now available. Eight, two-bedroom executive chalets have also been completed. The Bains Game Lodge Hotel now features 110 rooms and a brand new reception area.

It is about 800 km from Bains Game Lodge. For a stopover along the way to more exotic places you could try Kambro self-catering (self contained) accommodation which offers accommodation on a farm north of Britstown or Hanover Inn which is a self-catering (self contained) lodge in Hanover along the N1 highway in South Africa. Hanover is halfway between Gauteng and Cape Town.
LODGES IN NAMIBIA
If Bains Game Lodge is just a stop-over for you on your way to Namibia from Cape Town, let us help you to find a good place to stay once you are in Namibia. Temba Namibia offers self drive and guided tours in Namibia. One of the lodges we like to use is Mazambala Island Lodge which offers very good accommodation on an island in the Kwando River in the Caprivi in Namibia. The lodges nearest to Mazamamala Island is Namushasha Country Lodge which is also on the banks of the Kwando River. Ngepi Camp is another lodge that a lot of visitors enjoy. It has the most unusual accommodation in the Caprivi in Namibia. Here you can enjoy the views while sitting on a toilet, and the swimming pool is in a cage in the Okavango river.
If the desert areas appeal to you more Vingerklip Lodge is a lodge in Damaraland or the Kunune district of Namibia. The lodge overlooks the Vingerklip rock.
If you would prefer to see Zimbabwe after you visit at Bains Game Lodge, you could consider Sikumi Tree Lodge which is a luxury lodge in the Hwange National park in Zimbabwe. Inn on the Vumba in the Vumba or Bvuma Mountains in Zimbabwe is a boutique hotel known for its excellent service.
